Strunz class 01 is a top-level class in the Strunz classification of minerals. It includes the native chemical elements, both metals and nonmetals, as well as intermetallic alloys. It also includes carbide, silicide, nitride and phosphide minerals, as these usually have intersticial structures.

Second-level subclasses

  • 01.A Metals and intermetallic alloys
  • 01.B Metallic carbides, silicides, nitrides and phosphides
  • 01.C Metalloids and nonmetals
  • 01.D Nonmetallic carbides and nitrides
