The recommendations of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) cover chemical nomenclature (the names of chemical compounds), terminology (definitions of other terms used in chemistry) and other aspects of the presentation of chemical information. They are published either in book form (known as the "Colour Books" series) or in the journal Pure and Applied Chemistry.
