Hi, thanks for you work so far.  I hope my email is good news, too.  I just wanted to let you know, my plan is to rename parts of this site "wikichem" rather than "chemwiki".  This is simply because the domain name I have is www.wikichem.org and I wanted it to match.  Does this sounds reasonable?  [[User:Walkerma|Walkerma]] 23:27, 2 March 2008 (EST)

Latest revision as of 23:36, 2 March 2008

Thanks a lot for this, it's great to have some different types of demo pages up. The templates for these things are too sophisticated for my limited technical skills, I'm afraid. Cheers, Walkerma 16:05, 26 February 2008 (EST)

I'm having difficulty fixing the {{cite journal}} and {{cite web}} templates, both of which are very important IMO. Perhaps dirk can help? --Rifleman 82 11:09, 27 February 2008 (EST)
I asked Dirk to help Thur morning, but no reply as yet - he's pretty busy. Walkerma 01:47, 28 February 2008 (EST)
The pp template is the 'high risk protection notice' for templates, and the /doc template is the documentation, which should be in a subdocument. But since both are not created, they don't show.
The problem is, this is an old version of mediawiki, which does, by far, not have all the possibilities of the newer version. All these things used in this template will here never work. I'll leave a message for Martin. --Beetstra 07:59, 1 March 2008 (EST)
I'm aware of the pp template; that's not important for our purposes. I think we have a problem with the cite.php module, and the parser module. I've asked Martin to ask his IT support guys to take a look? --Rifleman 82 10:47, 1 March 2008 (EST)
I have asked Martin for shell access, we need many modules more. And quite some setting changes. Setting up the basis for editing is not the big problem .. setting up the policies and guidelines is going to be the big problem. --Beetstra 10:56, 1 March 2008 (EST)
That's nice. All the broken templates is actually making it frustrating to edit. I haven't thought as far as policies and guidelines yet. We are, however, working on our Project:mission statement. I am going to ask martin for admin access, that'll help me undo some of my failed experiments with the templates for now. --Rifleman 82 11:00, 1 March 2008 (EST)
I saw, I added some text to the talkpage there on how this could/should be set up. For the templates you also need more extensions enabled, otherwise these will not work here either. See you around! --Beetstra 11:09, 1 March 2008 (EST)

Rename

Hi, thanks for you work so far. I hope my email is good news, too. I just wanted to let you know, my plan is to rename parts of this site "wikichem" rather than "chemwiki". This is simply because the domain name I have is www.wikichem.org and I wanted it to match. Does this sounds reasonable? Walkerma 23:27, 2 March 2008 (EST)

Perfectly reasonable. --Rifleman 82 23:36, 2 March 2008 (EST)
