Alum-(Na), also known as sodium alum, is a sulfate mineral, one of the alum series, with formula NaAl(SO4)2·12H2O. It is a hydrated form of sodium aluminium sulfate.
The name alum-(Na) was introduced by the Commission on New Minerals and Mineral Names (CNMMN) of the International Mineralogical Association (IMA) in 2008, as part of a move to have single words (with hyphenated suffixes as necessary) for all mineral names.[4]
