Rudolf Julius Emanuel Clausius (2 January 1822 – 24 August 1888) was a German physicist.[1][2][3]

Biography

Rudolf Clausius was born in 1822 in Köslin (now Koszalin, West Pomerania, Poland) in the Province of Pomerania (part of the Kingdom of Prussia) to Carl Ernst Gottlieb (1781–1855), a theologian and schoolteacher, and Charlotte Wilhelmine Dienemann (1793–1840): he was the sixth of eighteen children.[2]
