Zosimos of Panopolis (Greek: ζώσιμος) was a Greek philosopher and alchemist. He was probably born in the middle of the third century AD and died in the early fourth century.[1] Although he is described as being "of Panopolis" (modern-day Akhmim in southern Egypt), he seems to have lived and worked in Alexandria (at least according to the Suidas).[1]
Zosimos is said to have written 28 books on alchemy, each addressed to his "sister" Theosebeia.[2]
