Actinium bromide, AcBr3, is the only known binary bromide of actinium. It has been prepared (on a 10-µg scale) by the reaction of actinium hydroxide with aluminium bromide at 800 °C.[4][5]
- 2Ac(OH)3 + 3CCl4 → 2AcCl3 + 3CO2 + 6HCl
It reacts with water vapour at 500 °C to give the oxobromide.[4][5]
