CODATA, more fully the Committee on Data for Science and Technology, is a scientific committee of the International Council for Science (ICSU). Its role is to promote the compilation, evaluation and dissemination of reliable numerical data of importance to science and technology. In particular, it publishes internationally accepted values of key data, such as fundamental physical constants or key thermodynamic parameters, which are usually referred to as CODATA recommended values.
