OK, it's about time we learned to use the tabs properly. In a separate browser window from this, your sandbox, and look the history by clicking on the history tab (top of the screen). Do you see all the changes you made? This is really helpful. You can use it to:

  • Spot vandalism, and revert it really easily.
  • Track useful edits people have made.
  • Refer to a specific version of an page - for example if you want to say, "I preferred the first paragraph as it was in [http://etc this version]".
  • Refer to specific changes/edits - for example, if you want to say, "Why did you make [http://etc this edit]?

I want you to do various things here in your sandbox:

  1. Click on the earliest date/time. You should see the earliest draft of your sandbox. (If you wanted to delete your later work and go back to this version, you could do edit then save.) Open another browser window.
  2. Select the URL (top of screen) of your first draft, copy it using CTRL-C (or Apple-C on Mac) and paste it onto your own talk page, under a new heading "Sandbox".
  3. Now go back to the history. Pick two versions to compare, then click on the "Compare selected versions" button. This will show all the changes people made between the two versions.
  4. Again select the URL at the top of the screen, and paste this onto your talk page, and sign.
  5. Now go back and format it nicely with some words like "First draft" and "Changes made".
