Praseodymium(III) bromide, PrBr3, is the main bromide of praseodymium. The the hydrate is prepared by dissolving praseodymium(III) oxide or praseodymium carbonate in hydrobromic acid, but cannot be dehydrated without partial hydrolysis.[1] The anhydrous salt is prepared by reaction of the elements.[1] It is a component of the molten salt bath used for the reduction of uranium oxide by magnesium.[3][4]
