Citation is a suite of formatting templates which produce references in ACS style for a wide variety of source documents. They also add COinS tags to the HTML code (these are invisible on the screen) to allow automated parsing of references.

{{Citation}} itself is a metatemplate which transforms a wide variety of parameter names into a standardized set for use by {{Citation/patent}} (for patents) or {{Citation/core}} (for other types of source document). It also add some formatting into page numbers, depending on the type of source document.
