The Nature of the Chemical Bond and the Structure of Molecules and Crystals; An Introduction to Modern Structural Chemistry, usually referred to as The Nature of the Chemical Bond, is a monograph written by Linus Pauling on the subject of chemical bonding. First published in 1939, it is probably the most influential twentieth-century text in chemistry.
