Butanol can refer to any alcohol containing four carbon atoms. There are four isomers:
- Butan-1-ol, or n-butanol, often simply refered to as "butanol";
- 2-Methylpropan-1-ol, or isobutanol;
- Butan-2-ol, or sec-butanol;
- 2-Methylpropan-2-ol, ot tert-butanol.
