Basic salt
A basic salt is a salt which contains oxide or hydroxide ions in addition to other anions. In formal terms, there is an excess of base in the salt with respect to the acid, as opposed to a neutral salt (where base and acid are in proportion) or an acid salt (where the acid is formally in excess).[1]
