This is the website for the Northeast Region of the American Chemical Society, which covers New England and upstate New York. Events within the region include the annual NERM conferences (the "Northeast Regional Meetings"; these are coordinated and overseen at the regional level by members of the regional board, as well as representatives from all of the local section. The following local sections are part of the Northeast Region.
Regional meetings
This year's Northeast Regional Meeting (NERM 2013) was held in New Haven, Connecticut on October October 23-26, 2013 at the Omni Hotel in New Haven, CT. The host will be the New Haven Section with Jeff Chin (Bristol-Myers Squibb) and Kenneth White (Chemtura, retired) as Co-chairs.
Keynote speakers included Prof. Donna Nelson, University of Oklahoma, speaking on the “Breaking Bad” TV show, and Dr. Marinda L. Wu, ACS President.

Regional awards
Two regional ACS awards were presented at NERM 2012, to Mr. David Hostage (Taft School, Watertown, NY) and Prof. Maria Hepel (SUNY Potsdam).
- The ACS Division of Chemical Education Northeast Region Award for Excellence in High School Teaching was awarded to David Hostage, The Taft School, Watertown, CT.
- The Northeast Region ACS Award for Achievements in the Chemical Sciences was awarded to Prof. Maria Hepel, SUNY Potsdam, Potsdam, NY 13676.
