Thulium(III) bromide, TmBr3, is the main bromide of thulium. The hydrate is prepared by dissolving thulium(III) oxide or thulium carbonate in hydrobromic acid, but cannot be dehydrated without partial hydrolysis.[1] The anhydrous salt is prepared by reaction of the elements.[1]
