Lutetium(III) bromide, LuBr3, is the only known bromide of lutetium. The hydrate is prepared by dissolving lutetium(III) oxide or lutetium carbonate in hydrobromic acid, but cannot be dehydrated without partial hydrolysis.[1] The anhydrous salt is prepared by reaction of the elements.[1]
