Caesium hexafluorosilicate, also known simply as caesium fluorosilicate, Cs2SiF6, is the caesium salt of hexafluorosilicic acid. It is prepared by the reaction between hexafluorosilicic acid and caesium hydroxide:[3]
- 2CsOH + H2SiF6 → Cs2SiF6 + 2H2O
It is used as a brazing flux, especially for aluminium alloys.[3]
