Main Page
Welcome to WikiChem! This wiki has been set up to develop and test out ideas for using wikis in chemistry. Access is at present limited to specific invited users, but if it seems appropriate it may develop beyond this once the testing phase is complete.

Some pages that are currently active:

  • Chemistry 321, an online course titled "The Sustainable World", taught on the wiki during Summer 2015.

Other projects include:

  • Periodically, training workshops are held on this wiki. If you are attending a workshop, please go to the start of the tutorial. You may also want to try editing this demo page for practice.

Please create an account- if you need help, see Help:Creating an account. Create a suitable username and then (when you have time) a user page. If people want to contact you directly, they will leave a message on your personal user talk page, and you will receive notice of any new messages when you log on.

Featured page

Organic synthesis is the construction of organic molecules via chemical processes. Organic molecules can often contain a higher level of complexity compared to purely inorganic compounds, so the synthesis of organic compounds has developed into one of the most important aspects of organic chemistry. There are two main areas of research fields within the general area of organic synthesis- total synthesis and methodology.
