This is the page for Unit 7, "Energy." There is no reading from Hill, but I would like you to watch

Energy

In chapter 6 Goldemberg describes global energy trends, looking at different forms of energy production, different uses, and different countries. He then considers likely future scenarios. In chapter 7 Goldemberg looks at ways to move to a more sustainable production and use of energy, covering a wide range from household stoves to nuclear power plants.

  • Unit 7 (PDF, for printing) (download)
  • Unit 7 (Powerpoint 2003, 1.3 MB), must be downloaded. On the file page, click on the filename link near the top to download.

Background readings

in 2013 these are not required, but I have left links up if you want some background information.

Videos

Please view the following videos, which were taken by myself locally (I apologize for the amateur camerawork!). There will be questions on the next homework concerning these.
