Symposium organizer

Steven Diver
  • Prof. Steven T. Diver is Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Chemistry at SUNY Buffalo. He studies alkyne chemistry, such as alkyne metathesis and synthesis of enynes.

Invited speakers

  • Prof. Matthias Brewer, University of Vermont: "Lewis acid mediated ring fragmentations: A concise route to polycyclic 2,5-dihydropyrroles from α-silyloxy ketones".
  • Prof. Kian Tan, Boston College: "Regio- and Stereoselective Hydroformylation Using a Catalytic Directing Group".
  • Prof. Daniel Clark, Syracuse University: "Transformations utilizing ruthenium hydrides for the synthesis of conjugated systems".
  • Ms. Monissa Paderes (Chemler group), University at Buffalo: "Mechanism of the copper-promoted intramolecular aminooxygenation of alkenes".
