Monday, July 22nd
- Read Unit 7.
- There is no reading from Hill for Unit 7, but instead you should watch these two short videos on alternative energy research being done in Potsdam: Prof. Robert Ewy on growing willow, and Prof. Ken Visser on small wind turbines.
- Submit problem set 3, due by midnight
- Prepare your first draft of your case presentation.
- Email Dr. Walker your proposed topic for the term paper.
Tuesday, July 23rd
- Read Unit 7.
- Attend Discussion 8 on Skype at 7pm EDT.

- Post comments on discussion 7, due midnight Thursday.
- Work on your case presentation (first draft due Thursday).
- Start work on problem set 4, due Friday.
Thursday, July 25th
- Read Unit 8, on mining & chemicals
- Read chapters 3 & 7 of Hill, on mining, chemicals and materials.
- Read the Reading from C&E News (taken from the June 25, 2012 issue).
- Email your topic for the term paper to Dr. Walker, if you haven't yet done so.
- Post comments on discussion 7, on renewable energy in the North Country.
- Work on your case presentation (first draft due today by midnight) and send your draft to Dr. Walker for feedback.
- Work on assigned problem set 4, due by midnight tomorrow.
- The evening group should attend discussion 9 at 7pm-8pm this evening.
Friday, July 26th
- Read Unit 9, on forestry, food & agriculture
- Read chapters 8 of Hill, on forestry
- Finish assigned problem set 4, due by midnight tonight.
- Email your topic for the term paper to Dr. Walker, if you haven't yet done so.
- Post comments on discussion 7, on renewable energy in the North Country.
- Work on your final draft of your case presentation once you get feedback on your draft back from Dr. Walker.
- The afternoon group should attend discussion 9 at 2pm-3pm this afternoon.
