Term paper, final exam

The final draft of the term paper (worth 15% of total grade) is due by midnight on the evening of Thursday, June 30th; however, because things are tight at this time I will still accept final drafts by midnight on Friday if necessary, without penalty.

The final exam is worth 20% of the overall grade, and it will be held on Friday, July 1st inside the CHEM 321 site on Blackboard. It will cover material from the entire semester. It will be a combination of multiple choice and long answer questions. You will be given two hours to take the exam, beginning at any time between 11am and 10pm US Eastern Daylight Time. You are free to consult Hill or other books, and to use the Web-based course content, and to access non-interactive pages from the Web; however, you are not allowed to post questions or to consult others by phone, text, in person, etc.

To help you study, there is an old exam and answer key from the older version of this course; some materials may be obsolete for this class, but most questions should be helpful. I will also be available here on Etherpad between 9am and 11am US EDT on Friday to answer your final questions, and you can contact me via email.

Discussions

The main discussion time has now been set as every Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 4pm US EDT.

Welcome!

Watch a brief introduction video from the instructor (may be slow to load!)

Welcome to Chemistry 321! Please look at the welcome page (just click on any blue link), first, then take a look at the Chem321:Syllabus and Chem321:Schedule to get an idea of what work is involved. To find out what you should be doing this week, take a look at today's page (changed daily) and this week's page (permanent).

All of the major Chem 321 pages will include the main navigation template (see right); some pages (such as assignment pages) may have an additional template at the bottom to help you find related pages quickly.
