Undergraduate and graduate student poster session
On the evening of Wednesday, June 2nd, the main poster session will be held in the Multipurpose Room in the Barrington Student Union. Part of this session will be made up of posters presented by undergraduate and graduate students.
Under a new scheme piloted at NERM, posters can display a colored dot to indicate your status to recruiters:
- A red dot indicates an undergraduate student looking for a graduate school
- An orange dot indicates an undergraduate student looking for an industrial position
- A blue dot indicates a graduate student looking for an industrial position
- A green dot indicates a graduate student looking for a postdoctoral position
With your permission, we will also share your name with recruiters of your choice. This will allow prospective employers to talk with you about your research at your poster.
Session organizers
Dr. Silvana Andreescu is Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science at Clarkson University. Dr. Andreescu's research interests include investigations of biomimetic materials with antioxidant properties for diagnosis and therapeutic applications in biomedicine, and development of practical biosensors for environmental and clinical monitoring. Other interests include in vivo toxicity studies of engineered nanomaterials and development of electrochemical probes for in vivo measurements of neurological activity, nanoparticle-induced toxicity and oxidative stress.
Dr. Andrea Ferro is Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science at Clarkson University. Dr. Ferro's research focuses on the relationship between air contaminants and human health. Her research projects include determining sources of indoor air contaminants, establishing the relationship between indoor and outdoor air, investigating the fate and transport of contaminants, assessing human exposure to air contaminants through direct (measurement) and indirect (modeling) methods, and finding links between human exposure and human health.
